Ready. Set. Let’s Go!
Here’s my Tips and Ideas for Great Senior Photos
PLUS: Examples from REAL Seniors and Their Outfits.
We’re all set with your photo date and we’ve talked location. Now on to outfits! Yay!
Here’s some tips for picking outfits and getting ready for your senior photo session day.
Finalize your outfits. Try on everything. Make sure it fits and you feel comfortable in it. Sit in the outfit and make sure that is comfortable. We will be doing sitting and standing poses.
Have everything you need for each outfit. Belt, socks, shoes, accessories, hats, jackets, jewelry. Also, think about the under garments. Make sure nothing shows that shouldn’t be or that no undergarments show through.
IRON your outfits. I can’t repeat this one enough. Wrinkles will show and they are super expensive to remove digitally.
Haircuts: A week out is a good time to get a haircut. That gives a week to work it and get it to where you want it to be. Or if you know your best schedule for haircuts, go with what works for you.
Fingernails: Cleaned and clipped or freshly polished. (Whatever your look is) You would be surprised to know that dirty fingernails show and so does chipped nail polish. (If you are going barefoot for some photos, this advice also applies :)

Not sure where to start with outfits? Take a look below to some of my previous Seniors and what outfits they picked out.
Let’s talk about outfits:
Wear what you feel comfortable in. Wear what is really you! I recommend 3 outfits for your photo session. Here’s a good rule if you are not sure where to start. Pick something dressy, something casual and something in between. Or if you are a dress up person, pick all dressy clothes. If you are a casual person, pick more casual clothes. I want you to feel like what you are wearing is really you.
And don’t worry about where you will be changing. I’ve got you covered with my handy pop-up tent that we will take with us everywhere.
